Double the fun, double the adventure.  It’s the perfect mantra for the jovial, dynamic duo who’s journey into remodeling and construction began over 20 years ago. Young unfettered ambition led each of them into buying their first homes while just in their early 20s. After a few years of making updates to their own homes and uncovering a passion for reimagining old spaces, fate (or truthfully, Steve’s mom) would send them on a blind date. While getting to know each other, Steve and Kirsten’s passions for construction and design merged into the unwavering drive to create dream homes together.

Travel has always been an integral part of Steve and Kirsten’s lives. Their first venture into building from the ground up was in Nicaragua, where they fell so deeply in love with the process they built three more. Over the years, they have been fortunate enough to explore and experience 20 countries. Much of their work has been inspired by diverse cultures, climates, styles, and architecture they’ve encountered along the way.

It’s been over 20 years since their individual passions built the foundation for what Appel Design + Construction is today. Steve and Kirsten have used those years to hone their expertise, building a repertoire for creating beautiful spaces and delivering exceptional client experiences. Together, they make a great team, balancing each other’s strengths and interests. They are passionate about helping others navigate the arduous process of redesigning and constructing a home. Both strive to create homes that reflect the lifestyles and auras of their clients—turning their visions and dreams into reality.
